It has been a wonderful ten-day workshop. From the beginning I feel relaxation, peace, a sensation of getting out of time and being able to collect myself inside. But at the same time it is a place of fraternal communication with the other participants.
After two days I had already stopped drinking coffee and tea, I was already eating half of what I usually eat. Within a week I noticed the lightness of having lost some body fat, the elasticity of having done daily exercises and stretching. The peace that comes from the slowness with which the exercises are carried out.
The times of silence while lying down or listening to music at a very low volume were precious to be in myself, forgetting about chores, desires, and the impulses that usually govern my life.
The difference between mundane life and life in the workshops is so great that the next day, when everything is over, is quite hard. Not only do I have to say goodbye to many dear people, to others I have just met, but I also see how the outside maelstrom wants to take over my time, my energy, my life again. And also a part of me, surely a negative part, helps to do so. So the task is to resist, to continue with the practice, with moderation in food, to protect the moments of silence and stillness. Not an easy task by the way.
This difference the workshop allows me to see it clearly, it helps me to see myself, to make decisions in a positive sense.
And the workshop itself is so pleasant, with the dance, with the music, with the stillness, with the silence.

For all this and much more that I’m sure I’m missing, thank you very much, Tamsin. From the bottom of my heart.

I am very grateful to Tamsin for continuing to teach workshops that keep alive the techniques of the “rapid method”, created by Iraqi Sufi Master Adnan Sarhan for being in the present moment. Even now, three years after Adnan passed away, Tamsin’s workshops return me to the same atmosphere of love, serenity and deep intimacy with the spirit, that I felt for more than twenty years with Adnan. For me, without a doubt, the way in which Tamsin transmits Adnan’s teachings is proof for the effectiveness of this work to heal, guide us towards solutions in our lives, increase creativity, and abandon any negative habit, thought, or behavior.

Sufi work with Tamsin

Opportunities to experience the Sufi work in its pure form are very rare.  Engaging the body, mind and spirit, as happens in a workshop with Tamsin, provides easy access to contentment and can deepen and reveal levels of insight for the participants.  

It is quite simple, one just moves along in the workshop, relaxing the mind and following the movements.  Doing this can result in profound and immeasurable peace.

It is experiential.  Since language cannot grasp the infinite realms of existence, so too, words cannot convey the freedom and mental clarity one feels after a weekend workshop.  One must attend in person, then the pure energy of your own heart, the concentrated group spirit and potential grace from the cosmos will flow to you.

For me spending time at the Sufi Camp is a great opportunity to rest and reconnect with who we are.  The Sufi practice work being done every day,  the contact with nature, and the good company of great people make it a regenerating and healing experience.
